Labor & Employment Law
The attorneys in the Labor & Employment Group help our clients with all types of employment matters. They regularly represent, counsel and advise management in the full range of issues related to employer-employee relations, including sexual harassment, discrimination, covenants not to compete and nonsolicitation agreements, disability accommodation, Family and Medical Leave, drug testing, progressive discipline management training, wage and hour issues, and severance negotiations. The primary focus is in taking a proactive approach in working with clients in conducting employment audits, drafting employee handbooks and contracts, and developing policies to avoid lawsuits. While the goal is to avoid employment litigation and governmental audits, the lawyers within the practice group regularly litigate and defend against the constantly growing field of claims against employers.
The Group also has an active traditional labor law practice representing management. In addition to handling unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board, the Group regularly handles union avoidance issues and campaigns, labor contract negotiations, and labor grievances/ arbitrations.
