Melissa L. McKinney

Melissa joined Blanco Tackabery in 2020. She practices in the Trust and Estates Practice Group, in which she focuses on assisting clients to plan for the management and distribution of their assets during life and incapacity and upon death. She works collaboratively with clients, families,  and their other professional advisors to accomplish clients’ estate planning goals and objectives. In addition, Melissa works with the Litigation Group to assist clients in contested estate and trust matters. Melissa is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Tennessee.

Melissa received her B.A. in History, cum laude, from Davidson College and her J.D., cum laude, from Wake Forest University School of Law. During law school, Melissa served as an Articles Editor for the Wake Forest Law Review and served as a research assistant for the lead reporter of the medical liability sections of the Restatement Third of Torts, by the American Law Institute (ALI).
