Peter’s extensive background of trying cases through to jury verdicts, bench judgments, and arbitration awards means that he can provide experience-based advice on the crucial issues in legal disputes. In over thirty years of litigating, Peter has tried dozens of cases to judges, juries, and arbitrators. He hasn’t won them all, but he learned invaluable lessons from each of them.

When, as is usually the case, your best outcome is a negotiated settlement, Peter has the skills and knowledge to ensure that the agreement is beneficial to you, and avoids a relapse into dispute through poor drafting or lack of clarity. When it is necessary to litigate, he is comfortable in that role, also.

Peter is married with three girls, including surprise twins. He is an active community volunteer, having served as Chair of the Boards of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County, Leadership Winston-Salem, the Little Theatre of Winston-Salem, the Trustees of Maple Springs United Methodist Church, and Piedmont Chamber Singers. He currently serves on the boards of Hospice and Palliative Care Center, SECCA, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Foundation.

Peter has especially extensive experience in several areas:

• Intellectual Property Litigation, including Patent, Copyright, and Trade Dress litigation in Federal Courts

In addition to his litigation practice, Peter is also certified by the Dispute Resolution Commission to conduct Superior Court Mediated Settlement Conferences. As a mediator, he focuses in the areas of commercial, real estate, corporate, and intellectual property disputes.
