Blanco Tackabery Attends 2018 Boy Scouts Distinguished Citizen Award
Blanco Tackabery was proud to support the 2018 Boys Scouts Distinguished Citizen award. Old Hickory Council held its annual Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner on May 10th. Community leaders, family, and friends gathered to honor Dr. Nathan O. Hatch, President of Wake Forest University. Dr. Hatch has had a significant influence through a lifetime of service and leadership to his community and nation. His passion and leadership are best described by the Boy Scout slogan, “Do A Good Turn Daily”.

Attorney Christopher Seamster Appointed to Financing Authority in Forsyth County
Blanco Tackabery attorney Christopher Seamster has been appointed to the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority. The purpose of the Authority is to assist local industry in securing bond financing. He will serve on this board for a five-year term ending in 2023.
Attorney Ashley Rusher from Blanco Tackabery Elected to Legal Elite
Ashley Rusher has been elected to Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite for 2018. Ashley practices in the area of business bankruptcy and creditor’s rights.
Business North Carolina magazine selects the Legal Elite through ballots sent to more than 28,000 attorneys who are active members of the North Carolina State Bar. Members are asked to select the best lawyer in each field and may not select themselves. Fewer than 3% of the state’s lawyers were named to the list this year.
Blanco Tackabery Employees Participate in the 2018 Bowl for Kids’ Sake
This past Saturday, over 25 Blanco Tackabery employees participated in the 2018 Bowl for Kids’ Sake, for which the Firm is also an official sponsor. Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters premier fund-raising event where people get together with friends, family, and co-workers and have a fun time bowling in support of the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs in the community. Our attorneys and staff collected funds to purchase food to pack over 450 backpack bags, which will feed food-insecure children in our local elementary schools on the weekends. Affordable Housing attorneys Carrie Scogin, Elizabeth Foley and paralegal Lisa Cornatzer attended the ABC of NC Gourmet Lunchbox Lunch on October 24, 2017. This annual fundraiser raises money for ABC of NC, which provides educational services to people with autism spectrum disorder. Blanco Tackabery is proud to support this annual event.
Blanco Tackabery Sponsors Annual RAH! (Run Against Hunger)
Blanco Tackabery was a proud sponsor of the annual RAH! (Ardmore Run Against Hunger), a fun run, 5k, 10k, and food drive benefiting the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. RAH! began fifteen years ago and has raised enough funds to provide more than one million meals for hungry families in our area. This year, nearly 700 runners participated in the RAH!, raising over $23,500, which is equivalent to 165,000 meals for families in need, making this the most successful year to date. Several Blanco Tackabery attorneys and paralegals participated in the run this year, including attorneys Kelly M. Otis and Susan E. Campbell, who each took home a bronze medal in their divisions. Blanco Tackabery attorneys enjoyed showing their support for the event by providing snacks and encouragement to the runners before and after the run.
