Attorneys Victoria G. Allen and R. Daniel Johnson Licensed in the State of New York

Blanco Tackabery is pleased to announce that as of April 5, 2023, two of our attorneys, Victoria G. Allen and R. Daniel Johnson were sworn in virtually in the state of New York.

Victoria G. Allen joined Blanco Tackabery in 2022. Her practice is concentrated in the Commercial Real Estate Practice Group and the Renewable Energy Financing and Development Practice Group. Victoria graduated from Campbell University School of Law. During law school, Victoria served as the Chief Bluebook Editor for the Campbell Law Review, Teaching Assistant for Advanced Legal Writing classes, and as a judicial intern for the North Carolina Supreme Court.

Daniel Johnson also joined Blanco Tackabery in 2022. Daniel’s primary focus is working with the Renewable Energy Financing and Development Practice Groups. Daniel received his J.D. from the School of Law at Wake Forest University and his B.S. from Oral Roberts University. During his undergraduate studies, he served as President of the Alpha Lambda Honors Society.

Both attorneys are also licensed to practice in North Carolina.

Blanco Tackabery is partnering with the Catholic Charities of the Piedmont Triad in effort to combat poverty and build community via their “Partners in Hope” fundraiser on March 30. Contributions will support programs like a food pantry, youth empowerment, refugee resettlement, and more.

This event is free to attend and will take place at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem.

On March 3, Blanco Tackabery was proud to support this year’s Bowl For Kids’ Sake Fundraiser for our local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters Services’ largest and longest-running annual fundraiser. Proceeds raised from this event helps to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite youth’s power and promises all year long.

The event was held at Bowlero Major League on Jonestown Rd.

This event is the longest-running annual fundraiser for Big Brother Big Sisters supporting one-to-one mentoring opportunities for youth in our community. Consider supporting this effort to help provide children with impactful mentorships.

Congratulations to Bo C. Houff On His Retirement

Bo has been with Blanco Tackabery since 1988. His practice concentrated in the areas of municipal law and business litigation, with an emphasis on creditors’ rights enforcement. Additionally, he is an avid volunteer and musician that plays with his band at local events.

Blanco Tackabery, a mid-size law firm in Winston-Salem, NC with extensive experience in a range of practice areas, is hiring.
The Following Positions are available:

Transactional Attorney

Successful applicants should have a minimum of six years of strong experience working with Affordable Housing transactions in a mid to large size law firm environment to work with our Affordable Housing and Community Development Group. Applicants must be detail oriented, able to multi-task and must have, or be able shortly to obtain, a license to practice in North Carolina. No book of business is required.

This position will involve:

  • Representing developers in connection with all aspects of their LIHTC transactions, from application to Year 15 issues
  • LIHTC and tax-exempt bond experience to manage those transactions for our clients
  • Negotiating and drafting commercial leases
  • Real estate knowledge and HUD, RD, historic tax credits and other federal and federally-assisted sources

Legal Assistant / Paralegal:

The ideal candidate for this position should have:

  • Experience in creditor representation in bankruptcy cases including providing administrative support for any or all of the following: reviewing pacer for filings, reviewing dockets, filing proofs of claim, motions for relief from stay, objections and other responses to bankruptcy pleadings and motions
  • Experience in general civil litigation involving creditor’s rights including providing administrative support for any or all of the following: foreclosures, collections, claim and delivery and lienholder petitions
  • Experience with case management system and electronic court filing systems is desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize assignments from multiple attorneys
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Only applicants with relevant experience will be considered. This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, hours 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Salary is negotiable based upon experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package will be provided.
